About Our Switchgear Buying

We buy switchgear, remove it ourselves, and resell it as equipment rather than metal. Here is how that works and where we draw the line.

What we actually do

We buy electrical switchgear that a business no longer needs, and we remove it ourselves. That is the whole business. A plant is upgrading, a building is being redeveloped, a contractor has a warehouse full of gear from a cancelled job, or a utility has retired a standard it no longer runs — and in each case there is equipment sitting there that has value to somebody else.

We take title to that equipment, send our own riggers and trucks, cover the freight, and settle the money before the load leaves the property. Then we resell the gear as usable electrical equipment: complete lineups into projects that cannot wait out a lead time on new gear, and individual drawout breakers to plants that still run a line the manufacturer stopped building decades ago.

That resale is the entire reason we can pay more than a scrap processor. A scrap yard is buying copper, aluminum and steel by weight and paying to dispose of everything that is not metal. We are buying a functioning assembly with a nameplate and an installed base behind it.

Where we are straight with you

Not every lineup is worth resale money. Gear that has been through an arcing fault, sat in flood water, been picked over for parts, or spent years leaking in an outdoor enclosure is worth metal value and nothing more. When that is what you have, we say so rather than working up to it.

There are also things we do not do. We do not perform energized work. We do not operate the utility's equipment. We do not do asbestos or PCB abatement. Your electrician or the utility de-energizes, isolates and locks out the gear, and we take it from there.

We are not an authorized dealer, distributor or agent of any manufacturer. When we name a manufacturer it is to identify equipment we buy.

How we are set up to work

We cover ten states: Texas, Florida, New York, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. That footprint is not a marketing number, it is the area we can reach, remove from and haul out of economically with our own crews and freight lanes.

Every photograph on this site is from a real job. There are no rendered or generated images of equipment we have never touched, because anybody who works around switchgear can tell the difference in about a second.

The fastest way to work with us is a photograph of the nameplate. Manufacturer, type designation, voltage class and bus rating answer most of our questions before we ever ask them.

Ready to move it out?

Send a photo of the nameplate showing the manufacturer, type, voltage class and bus rating, a photo of the full lineup, and a note on how the room is accessed. Call (954) 740-1983 or email electricalequipmentbuyers@gmail.com and we will come back with an itemized offer.
